Writing Intensive Course Information

Industry-based design problem structured to integrate material presented in several theory or methods courses. Must immediately follow IMSE 4970. Pre-requisite: IMSE 4970. This course, required of senior IMSE students, is designed to provide students with a real industrial design experience where they are required to synthesize and apply the course material that they have learned previously. The course focuses on the integration of industrial engineering subjects in a team environment. Microthemes are assigned to explore focused topic areas. The project report is used to communicate areas of improvement to an industrial client.
I've added a significant amount of oral communication to augment the written communication skills the students acquire.
