Senior Documentary Capstone
Focus on the completion of a long-form documentary work and its place in current documentary programming. Students will apply knowledge from previous documentary courses in this capstone experience through writing, in-class presentations and their finished work.

Writing Intensive Course Information

Students will use this course to complete work on a yearlong documentary project to be the capstone of their work in the documentary journalism program. This course will concentrate on writing, editing, finishing and post production for the senior documentary project. This course serves as a capstone experience for students in the documentary journalism interest area.

Writing Intensive Teaching

Students will have bi-weekly written assignments for the DocJournalism.com web site. Assignments will include documentary reviews, equipment reviews, coverage of documentary events and more. Each of these assignments will be the responsibility of the student to conceive, report and execute. All of the assignments that are reviews will involve analysis and interpretation on the part of the student to complete.
Writing assignments are weekly.

Fifty percent of course grade comes from a semester-long documentary production. The other 20 percent comes from in-class participation.
