Graduate Certificate in Human Resources Management

Human resources management (HRM) is concerned with matching and developing human talent to the goals and objectives of an organization to support organizational performance and human thriving. The goal of this certificate is to provide core knowledge in the field of human resources to existing professionals in the HR field that want to upskill, individuals who want to train for a move into HR roles, or individuals who want to build their HR skills in order to function more effectively in managerial or other leadership roles. Students will be exposed to cutting edge tools, and to contemporary problems in HR that will allow them to tackle the types of HR issues they will experience in the modern workplace. Students will develop a thorough understanding of core HR functions, including recruiting, selection, job analysis, training and development, performance management, and compensation. In addition, students will develop skills surrounding the use of HR analytics to diagnose HR problems and recommend potential programs as solutions. A major focus of the program will be on strategic thinking, managing change in a contemporary workforce, and problem solving.

Requirements

Students must earn 12 credit hours to complete the certificate, including 7.5 credit hours from Required Courses, and at least 4.5 credit hours from the Elective Courses list.
