Academic Programs
The university is made up of colleges and schools, which are organized based on academic focus. In some cases, larger colleges also include schools within them. At Mizzou, the main academic units are:
- College of Agriculture, Food and Natural Resources, which includes the School of Natural Resources
- College of Arts and Sciences, which includes the School of Languages, Literatures and Cultures; the School of Music; the School of Visual Studies; and the Truman School of Government and Public Affairs
- Robert J. Trulaske, Sr. College of Business
- College of Education and Human Development, which includes the School of Information Science and Learning Technologies
- College of Engineering
- Graduate School
- College of Health Sciences, which includes the School of Social Work
- Honors College
- Missouri School of Journalism
- School of Law
- School of Medicine
- School of Nursing
- College of Veterinary Medicine
Degree Structure
To earn a degree from the University of Missouri, students must complete all university, college and/or school, departmental and major requirements. In some cases, the major requirements may include emphasis areas and/or minors. In other cases, there may be options or tracks that do not appear on transcripts.
Academic Calendar
The academic year is divided into two, 16-week semesters (fall and spring) and one, 8-week summer semester. The January intersession is considered part of the spring semester for registration and financial aid purposes. The May intersession is considered part of the summer session.
