Minor in Migration Studies
The Migration Studies minor offers students an interdisciplinary exploration of global human migration, with a focus on its cultural, social, and historical dimensions. This program is particularly relevant in today's world, where migration continues to shape global identities and societal change. Students will engage with key topics such as diaspora communities, transnationalism, and the cultural impact of migration on language, identity, and societal structures. The program offers a blend of core and elective courses that explore migration narratives, global cultures, and the shared human experience of movement. Highlights include hands-on learning through internships, research opportunities, and the chance to work with professionals in the field. Earning the minor will better position graduates to pursue careers in fields such as international law, diplomacy, public policy, corporate social responsibility, and global business, as well as human rights advocacy. This minor also provides a strengthened foundation for further graduate study in areas like international relations, migration law, and public administration, equipping students with unique knowledge and experience to thrive in these areas.
