MEd in Learning, Teaching and Curriculum with Emphasis in English Education Certification
The M.Ed in Learning Teaching and Curriculum with Emphasis in English Education, Certification gives students a strong background in reading and writing pedagogy, adolescent literature, and media literacy. Students learn details of lesson planning, curriculum creation, and teaching practices including classroom management and attention to issues of diversity and social equity.
The program of study is designed for students who already possess an English content area degree to meet the teaching certification requirements as outlined by the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education. All courses will be delivered through an asynchronous online format with the exception of the clinical experiences.
Degree Requirements
Successful completion of the program requires a minimum of 30 credit hours. In addition to the teaching-related courses listed below, minimum English content area credits and clinical experiences must also be completed.
