Certificate in Acting
The Certificate in Acting is designed to develop students’ practical skills in acting, deepen their understanding of performance literature, and apply contemporary acting theory in collaborative creative work. Students will progress through a sequence of performance-based courses that build upon foundational techniques and culminate in advanced acting and camera work. Students will be able to seek various careers including stage actor, voice actor, commercial work, drama instructor, social media performer, and/or various other performance-related fields.
Requirements
The certificate consists of at least 12 credits; at least 12 credits must be taken in MU course work. Students must meet the minimum GPA requirements for a certificate, which in no case can be lower than 2.0. In addition, a student cannot receive a grade lower than a C- in any course applied towards a certificate in the College. For more information, please see Requirements for an Optional Certificate.
