MA in Human Development and Family Science with Emphasis in Family and Community Services
The Master of Arts in Human Development and Family Science emphasis in Family and Community Services is designed for human services professionals who want to deepen their understanding of family and interpersonal dynamics, to develop skills necessary to lead and sustain programs, and to improve their communities. Graduates of this degree program will know how to use evidence to inform program delivery, implementation, and evaluation, and they go on to work in a variety of services, including Extension, parenting or relationship education, home visiting programs, family case management, crisis intervention, violence or substance abuse treatment, and grants management.

Degree Requirements
The Family and Community Services MA emphasis consists of 30 credit hours, with 21 required and 9 elective credit hours. The required capstone project will have an applied focus and include an independently produced paper and an oral examination by the student’s MA committee.
