INTL_S 4290: Pre-Departure Seminar for the TaLK Program

Prior to beginning the TaLK Program in Korea, students will explore Korean language, culture and educational system through seminars and workshops provided by the Asian Affairs Staff and guest speakers. Graded on A-F basis only.

INTL_S 4940: Internship in Intercultural Communication

(same as LG_LT_CT 4940). This course provides an intercultural communication framework for students exploring global career pathways through internships in multicultural or multilingual organizational settings in the US or abroad. Readings and course assignments will guide students to critically reflect on cultural dynamics, communication styles, and global competencies to enhance their understanding and effectiveness in multicultural professional environments. Students will also explore and refine their career readiness through resume building, informational interviews, and skills assessments, with an emphasis on NACE competencies.

INTL_S 4950: Undergraduate Research in International Studies

This is a course that allows junior and senior International Studies students to engage in advanced individual research under faculty supervision on topics relevant to international studies. The research can lead to a thesis paper or be project-based. The outcomes and intended final product of the research must be arranged by the student and faculty member prior to registration. Graded on A-F basis only.

Prerequisites: Junior or senior standing, and departmental consent required
