Graduate Certificate in Academic Advising

The Academic Advising graduate certificate is designed to provide practicing academic advisors and those who plan to enter the field with opportunities to gain the knowledge, skills, and competencies required to advance their academic advising practices in manners that best support students. Students in the Academic Advising graduate certificate will engage in hands-on projects to advance their knowledge of advising, inclusion, diversity, and equity and be able to recognize and apply student development theories. The Academic Advising Graduate Certificate is ideal for anyone interested in a job in the field of advising or related college student support services.


Students complete a set 15 credit hours including four required courses and one elective of choice from the list of electives below.
